A hot-air balloon pilot doesn’t control the wind. The pilot learns to understand it, find it, and work with it. By changing altitude, the pilot can actually discover a different current that may take the balloon in the direction the pilot needs to go.
Life can be very much the same.
Finding your wind means discovering the conditions, purpose, and opportunities that allow you to move forward rather than constantly fighting against what is around you.
Sometimes the answer is not to push harder.
Sometimes the answer is to simply change altitude.
That could mean:
“The pilot has a destination, but doesn’t always have control of the route” - Timo
This is where faith comes in.
You prepare the balloon.
You get the balloon off the ground.
You watch the conditions.
You make adjustments
You change altitude.
You find the wind.
And then you trust the wind to help guide you.
Finding your wind doesn’t mean finding the easiest path. It means discovering the conditions that allow you to move in the direction you were created to go.
This is a 3-week series on how we can compare piloting a hot-air balloon with our mental health and spiritual alignment.
